A big thank you to Byungmun Seo, Jina Um, and Iam Uuumji of the visually provocative ready-to-wear brand BMUET(TE). For the opportunity to contribute to the creation a series of “Gallery T Shirts”. Superlative design and quality and well worth tracking down.

Their approach? Inventing a new aesthetic outside of established codes, from classical clothing, which is destructured, decomposed and reconstructed in unconventional proportions and forms.

For the second season, South Korea is in the spotlight at Pitti Uomo. A parade was organized on Wednesday as part of the Florentine fair, via the project "Concept korea", supported by KOCCA (Korea Creative Content Agency), the most important Korean government agency to support the new creative talent, to introduce the public and buyers the work of Bmuet (te) and Beyond Closet. Two emerging Korean brands with very different styles, testifying to the creative diversity and liveliness of this country.

Bmuet(te), as the name suggests, is primarily conceptual. "The name of our brand, which is addressed to men and women, is an invitation to silence, to leave room for our imagination, for the search for ideas and for creation," explains Byungmun Seo,with his design partner Jina Um.

Their approach? Inventing a new aesthetic outside of established codes, from classical clothing, which is destructured, decomposed and reconstructed in unconventional proportions and forms. "We want to create a new way of dressing by working on the structure of the garment. To better show our concept, we deliberately limited the palette to white, black and gray, "says Byungmun Seo.

Thus, a bomber jacket and a classic jacket intertwine to create a coat with new proportions. A button-down shirt on the back is lined on the front by a sweater without back, which can be put on the shirt or in its place. "Weird but beautiful", claim the designers in the collar of a polo shirt.

Hybrid multi-purpose models have inspired the couple. A sweatshirt is adorned with four large sleeves: two for the arms and two others placed on the front and back, allowing to wear the garment as pants. Knitwear with two holes to put on the head serve as a pullover or scarf. The duo, who completed a master's degree at the London College of Fashion, left London for Seoul, where they set up their brand, which boasts about thirty dealers, from Traffic in Los Angeles to Harvey Nichols in Hong Kong.
